Tell us about what you do at WorkCast?

I head up the New Business team who welcome on-board all new clients to WorkCast. I train and work alongside my team on understanding a prospect’s key requirements, objectives and “aim of the game”. We’re there to advise and consult on why & how the platform will deliver the all-important results.

Aside from prospects, I work with other departments such as Marketing & Ops on analysing data to understand how to position our services to best fit the buying personas of our target markets.

Describe a typical day for you at WorkCast

First stop, breakfast! WorkCast is kind enough to provide breakfast for all employees and my current favourite is golden syrup oats. Next is sugar-free Red Bull (yes, the sugar-free part counts and no, I don’t like tea or coffee!). I’ll quickly respond to or send out important emails then work on my 4 Frogs. After that, depending on the day of the week/month, it’ll be a mix of:

  • Chasing up the progress of existing deals
  • Delivering demos of our platform to prospects
  • Prospecting and outbound activity
  • Training my team
  • Proposal building
  • Compiling presentations for company meetings
  • Offsite meetings with prospects

...and if I can squeeze it in, a walk on my lunch around the nature reserve near to the office :).

What's your favorite thing about WorkCast?

My favorite aspect of WorkCast is that it’s headquartered here in Sunderland. It’s a diverse and exciting company providing opportunities to somewhere that isn’t traditionally known as a Hub of B2B software businesses. That, and it only being approximately 15 minutes from my home, ha!

What advice do you have for somebody who wants to run their first webinar?

Start simple and use scheduled replay (simulive)! Take the nerves away from your first broadcast & pre-record it so you know it’ll go smoothly no matter what.

Okay, now onto a quick Q&A about you...

What’s the last song you listened to?

Tom Grennan - This is the Place.

Can you give us a local restaurant recommendation for the Sunderland area?

My favorite place to take people when they're visiting is Mumbai Silk or Goa. They're sister restaurants serving Indian food and are both amazing!

What's your favorite quote? Can be either work related, or inspirational.

There are two quotes that I really love, so I'll give you both.

  1. 'Cautious optimism'
  2. 'In a world where you can be anything, be kind.'
