The people make WorkCast. That’s why we want to shine a light on the amazing people of Team WorkCast, from developers to event managers to marketers and beyond. In our latest employee spotlight, we speak to William "Bill” Konesko, from our events team.
So Bill, what is your role at WorkCast?
I am a Customer Operations Manager for WorkCast; between my counterpart Claire and myself, we manage all the technical support lines, the events team and more. We engage on multiple levels with our clients partnership with WorkCast; it's pretty rare for me to come across a client i know little about :)
Describe a typical day for you at WorkCast
Drink Coffee. Run Webinars.
Part of the fun of the job is no day is like the other. We have our routine to be sure, but our schedule is designed around supporting our clients events. If we have a lot of client events on the docket, then that's our focus for the day. On the "slow" days it's doing testing, long term project work like building out virtual events, client training, and more.
What are 3 words to describe WorkCast?
Prepared for Failure.
Sounds corny I know, but one of the hallmarks of the platform - and the events team - is that we've dealt with events that have failed before. And we've grown as a result. Our processes have improved, our platform has been updated, etc. A true event failure these days is very very rare. On a restricted network? Our platform has different connection types to get around that. Worried about server outage?
We're hosted on Amazon Web Services, so while technically possible the chances of an issue are minuscule. Have microphone issues? No worries, you can also connect a webcam or call in. WorkCast is keen to deliver outstanding events and provide the confidence that:
- There wont be issues but
- If there are we know how to handle it promptly.
A big factor of that is being prepared for failure.
What advice do you have for people who want to run webinars?Always practice. Even five minutes in the platform ahead of time to learn how to move slides, use chat, etc. makes a big difference.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
As noted above, the variety keeps things interesting. We also have a lot of fantastic clients that are enjoyable to talk with during and after the events.
Ok, let’s change gears a little....
What are you currently watching on Netflix?
Well my wife and I just finished binging on Friends. Now we’re sampling different shows on Amazon Prime.
What would you name the autobiography of your life?
Pizza and Coffee
And if you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?
I mean Han Solo is pretty cool so I would probably go with that. Hard to fly a spaceship with glasses though.
